As photographers are you constrained to the media size of film or sensor, or do you present images that deliver your poetic interpretation of the vision before you? After all photographs are an illusion that is interpreted by each viewer through their knowledge base. How does size aspect ratio influence the meaning of image?
I challenge you to explore and see how re-seeing your capture can deliver new life to image making.
Common aspect ratios in still photography include: 1:1, 5:4, 4:3, 3:2, 5:3, 16:9, 3:1, or pick an aspect that fits your fancy. Since your not working for a publication or media outlet the world is your oyster.
Bring some images to the next TOM meeting January 18th. Talk about Aspect ratio and Arnold Newman.
